I finally finished my DQS7 quilt. I decided to sent the Tumblers quilt to my partner and the purple log-cabinish quilt to my Pay It Forward partner. The improvisational abstract quilt will soon be posted here in a giveaway, so check back in the next week for the post.
In the meantime, here are the pictures :)
Finished DQS7 Front and Back
"Tumblers" is finished! Yeah! All nice and crinkley from the washing. I really like the triangles on this one. I repeated the triangle shapes in the quilting as well. The binding is from what was left of the fat quarters after cutting out the triangles. The binding is hand finished. I never was good at keeping binding straight enough to machine sew it completely on a quilt, so I machine sew it to the top and then pull it to the back and hand stitch it.
Pay It Forward Mini Quilt
You will have to look at the picture of the back to see the quilting design, but it crinkled very nicely. This lovely is going all the way to Utah :) I will hopefully get it shipped on Monday. Look out for it Anita (Annie Of Blue Gables).
I made all these random squares across the quilt. You really cannot tell from the front. The prints are really strong and the quilting gets pulled to the background visually.
Abstract Mini-Quilt Quilting Close-Up
I am finishing the binding on this one, but I wanted to give you a peek at the quilting close up. I ran some of the purple thread out onto the black border. At the top there is also some yellow thread on the border that mimics the rectangles on the yellow fabric. Overall I like how it turned out. Maybe it will get really puffy when it is washed :)
